The obverse of the coin features in the upper part the state coat of arms of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria, with ‘19’ and ‘82’ on both sides. Below it in two lines is the number of the nominal value ‘10’ and the word ‘ЛЕВА’ (levs), framed by two laurel branches. In circumference is the inscription ‘НАРОДНА РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ’ (People’s Republic of Bulgaria) with two five-pointed stars and a dotted ring.

The reverse of the coin features a football goal, a football ball and a sombrero with a ribbon inscribed ‘СП ИСПАНИЯ 1982’ (World Championship Spain 1982). Around the edge are the inscriptions ‘XII СВЕТОВНО ПЪРВЕНСТВО ПО ФУТБОЛ’ (XII World Football Championship) and ‘ИСПАНИЯ-1982’ (Spain-1982). The composition is finished with an outer dotted ring.
