* The BNB Banking Supervision Department groups banks in view of outlining the dynamics of processes in the banking system. This grouping does not entail any rating element, and should not be interpreted as rating banks’ financial position. Assigning banks to groups is done based on the amount of their assets as of the end of each reporting period. The first group consists of the largest 5 banks on the basis of their total assets at the end of every reporting period, the second group comprises all the remaining banks, and the third group comprises the branches of foreign banks in Bulgaria.

¹ Reporting with reference date 30 June 2020 has been amended and supplemented pursuant to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/429 of the Commission of 14 February 2020 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 680/2014 on supervisory reporting of institutions. From 28 June 2021 the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/451 of 17 December 2020 applies, repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No 680/2014. The files Balance sheet statement and Statement of profit or loss also contain a template of the relevant reporting model with methodological references (metadata).
