The Bulgarian National Bank publishes foreign currency exchange rates under Article 12 of the Foreign Exchange Act, and they are used for the purposes provided for by law or other regulatory act.

Every working day for the Republic of Bulgaria, the Central bank announces on its website the exchange rates of foreign currencies per one euro and the exchange rates of the euro per unit of foreign currency at around 5:00 p.m. Bulgarian time.

The technical options for downloading the latest published exchange rate information are as follows:

  • RSS subscription;
  • HTML format;
  • Downloading 4 types of file formats with permanent addresses: xls, pdf, xml and csv;
  • Search by date and period.

  • 31.07.2025 The Governing Council of the BNB took a decision in accordance with Article 12, paragraph 1 of the Currency Law, effective from the date of adoption of the euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, under which, as of that date, the BNB will publish on its website for accounting and statistical purposes the exchange rates of foreign currencies against the euro, as well as the exchange rates of the euro against foreign currencies, as quoted by the ECB
  • 08.12.2025 г. Pursuant to Article 12, paragraph 1 of the Currency Law, on 1 January 2026 the Bulgarian National Bank will publish on its website for the first time the exchange rates of foreign currencies against the euro and of the euro against foreign currencies
