As there have been new cases of telephone calls from persons pretending to be employees of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), we would like to inform you as follows:
The callers claim that the BNB grants loans and they give instructions for various actions to be performed, including for depositing money or ordering transfers. All such calls are fraudulent and are not made by BNB employees.
In some cases, they are combined with fake calls from representatives of other state and public institutions.
The BNB warns:
• Do not provide any personal data over the phone;
• Do not follow any instructions received in such calls;
• If you suspect fraud, immediately contact your bank and report it to the nearest police department of the Ministry of Interior.
The Bulgarian National Bank does not make any calls to citizens offering loans or other financial services.
